Candle Care
At Gospel Bee, we are committed to delivering the finest handcrafted beeswax candles that bring warmth and beautiful light into your space.
All our candles include detailed instructions for optimal use and care, helping you get the most out of your candles while enjoying them safely.
Here are some helpful candle care tips to ensure your beeswax pillar candles burn beautifully, allowing you to enjoy their long-lasting golden glow.
Lighting your candles
Always use a heat proof candle plate, on a stable and level heat-resistant surface when burning candles.
Burn candles in a draft-free environment.
Trim the wick to ¼ inch. A smaller, trimmed wick ensures a steady, controlled flame.
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt all the way to the edge to create an even burn and prevent tunnelling.
Keep candles free from dust, foreign objects and wick trimmings.
Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time.
Putting out your candles
Ideally, snuff out candles or dip the wick into the wax pool and straighten, recommend using wick dipper or snuffer tool to carefully extinguish.
After extinguishing, and waiting for wax to cool, gently ‘hug’ the candle, pressing the softened outer wax inward towards the wick. Hugging your candle helps promote even burning and maximise wax consumption.
Do not burn beeswax pillar candles in a container such as hurricane lamp, lantern or enclosed candleholder, as these can restrict airflow, leading to uneven burning or excess heat build-up.
Candle Safety
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Burn within sight.
Keep away from flammable objects.
Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.
Burn candle out of reach of children & pets.
Keep clothes & hair away from the naked flame.
Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles.
Beeswax Bloom
Bloom — A Natural Sign of Purity
Beeswax bloom is a natural, frosted layer that forms on the surface of pure beeswax candles. This delicate, white crystalline texture is a beautiful sign of the candle’s purity and all-natural composition. As the beeswax cools, it releases natural oils that rise to the surface and crystallize, creating this subtle, elegant white bloom.
Rather than a flaw, bloom is a charming reminder of the authenticity, quality and craftsmanship of our candles. It’s a natural characteristic that only occurs with pure beeswax, showcasing the 100% beeswax nature of our products. Bloom adds to the unique, natural beauty and character of each candle and can easily be removed by
polishing with a soft cloth if desired.
Storage
Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight to prevent melting or fading.
